The Project
The stretch of OR 99 through Cottage Grove connects residential homes to shopping centers and businesses. The current road was in need of repair to improve pedestrian and bicycle facilities. Some of the improved roadwork included new utility lines. Cell-Crete was contracted with placing Class III 80 PSI lightweight cellular concrete (LCC) material in trench backfills for the new utilities.
The Solution
Our material was chosen because of its flowability and lightweight properties to easily place without disrupting construction schedules. These factors also reduced any impact on traffic conditions. Roughly 1,100 CY of LCC was placed in 1,500 LF of trenches at 4 to 6’ in depth.
