Costa Mesa, CA
Previously an LA Times newsroom, printing press, and distribution facility. The Press building has been completely remodeled into a 450,000-square foot creative work campus and food hall.
The steel members of the building were left exposed to provide a more open floor plan, and creative design that allows light which reveals the “skeletal bone” structure of the building.
Our fireproofing team sprayed intumescent paint on the steel members left exposed, providing a presentable, sleek look. Conventional low-density material was used for the non-exposed members enclosed within the ceiling.
