In situations when the steel is exposed, but requires a fire rating, we can apply a high-density fireproofing material to provide the required rating, as well as keep a nice sleek looking finish. The photos show steel in a stairwell that was previously spray-fireproofed with a low-density product. Our team added steel lath for shaping, hand-troweled a high-density material for protection against abrasions and damages and shaped the material to provide a cement column-like finish.
Our clients have used this method as an alternative to Intumescent Paint, providing the rating required for the steel at a fraction of the costs.
