Business Development / Marketing Manager, Engineered Fill

“Safety first, last and always. Listen and learn every day. We have to maintain credibility and sometimes ‘I don’t know’ is the right answer.”

How’d you get started in the industry?

My interest in Civil Engineering and all types of infrastructure and construction led to my education and career in the industry.

How did you first find out about Cell-Crete?

I met people at Cell Crete through my cement industry work.  Lightweight Cellular Concrete has many valuable applications including as an alternative type of ground improvement.

What is a typical day like for you on the job?

It is typical for each day to be unique, like the people and projects I get to meet and see.  Answering questions, supporting projects, and connecting teams with resources are common but project specific.

What’s one of the best things about working here?

The teamwork atmosphere everyone has here is the best.  With the versatility of Lightweight Cellular Concrete and the innovation of our team, we have experience with most of the needs that innovative designers and contractors ask us about.

Do you have a favorite project that you’ve worked on here at Cell-Crete?

I was fortunate to be involved with Argonaut Mine Tailings Dam stabilization through the design team although I was with the cement association then.  Cell Crete placed the Lightweight Cellular Concrete.  The project was unique and reduces risk of potential seismic-induced release of the hazardous tailings.

Do you have any advice or tips for someone who’s just starting in this field or who would be in your position?

Safety first, last and always.  Listen and learn every day.  We have to maintain credibility and sometimes “I don’t know” is the right answer.

How do you define success?

Safely accomplishing goals every day.

Tell me about yourself. What kinds of things do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy kayaking, jet skiing, every type of car activity and several music genres.

What is the next item on your bucket list? Any travel plans? Upcoming events? Life goals?

Never had interest traveling outside of the U.S. I used to have Yosemite on the list, but now that’s already completed. Getting back to normal.
